Room 160

The Economic Development Administration (EDA) and Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) recently announced the availability of $65.8 million through the Obama Administration’s Partnerships for Opportunity and Workforce and Economic Revitalization (POWER) Initiative.

Jeff Schwartz, ARC POWER Initiative Manager, will be present to provide the most recent information about POWER.

POWER is a multi-agency initiative that targets federal resources to help communities and regions that have been affected by job losses in coal mining, coal power plant operations, and coal-related supply chain industries due to the changing economics of America’s energy production.

The POWER Initiative supports efforts to create a more vibrant economic future for coal-impacted communities by cultivating economic diversity, enhancing job training and re-employment opportunities, creating jobs in existing or new industries, and attracting new sources of investment.

There is no fee to attend the workshop. Lunch will be provided.

Please RSVP to Holly Knight at hknight@ovrdc.org or Sharon Clark at sclark@ovrdc.org by Friday, April 15th if you are planning to attend so we can provide an accurate count for lunch.
