OVRDC Summer Internship – Appalachian Community Grant Program (ACGP) Documentary Project

Description: Ohio Valley Regional Development Commission (OVRDC) is seeking an internship candidate to help with a multimedia documentary project profiling the Appalachian Community Grant Program (ACGP) project awards and their impact on the communities and the Appalachian Ohio region.

Candidates will need to provide their own equipment and software to complete the project. Project direction and supervision will be provided in collaboration with the documentary team consisting of the Buckeye Hills Regional Council (BHRC) Communications Director, Ohio Valley Regional Development Commission staff and Ohio University media instructor Andie Walla.

We are looking to capture on-location project footage as construction happens and as ribbon cutting events happen, as well as interviewing subjects who are connected to the project. Mileage will be reimbursed for on-site interviews (based on site location distance from OVRDC or BHRC offices, depending on the project).  The candidate will be responsible for photography, videography, videos effects, and final edits.

Location: Aside from on-site footage capture, subject interviews and required meetings, much of this internship project can be completed remotely.

Pay Range: $15/hour (undergrad) $20/hour (graduate) plus mileage reimbursement.

Estimated project hours: up to 120 hours total, with the potential for additional hours based on project needs.

Estimated timeline: April – August 2026

Project deliverables: rough video footage, edited videos, photographs.  All photos and videos taken during the internship become the property of OVRDC.
