The Ohio Valley Regional Development Commission (OVRDC) is committed to helping local governments, nonprofits, and community partners access federal funding that supports community infrastructure, economic investment, health services, and more. Below are key opportunities available this year through the offices of Senators Jon Husted and Bernie Moreno and Congressman Dave Taylor.

1. Community Project Funding – Rep. Dave Taylor (OH-02)

Congressman Taylor’s office has opened an application process to request federal funding for community projects and initiatives that support local needs across Ohio’s 2nd Congressional District. NOTE: The deadline has been moved up to Friday, March 6, 2026

Guidance for Community Project Funding

This includes requests for congressionally directed spending (community project funding) that can support things like:

  • Infrastructure improvements
  • Economic and workforce development
  • Public services
  • Community facilities

2. Congressionally Directed Spending – Senator Bernie Moreno

Senator Moreno’s office is also accepting submissions for federal funding requests that can be included in upcoming federal appropriations. These can be for community and state-level project support that aligns with federal priorities and programs.

3. Congressionally Directed Spending & Appropriations Requests – Senator Jon Husted

Senator Husted’s office also offers a funding request opportunity for Congressionally Directed Spending (CDS) — projects that Senators can submit to the Senate Appropriations Committee for inclusion in federal spending bills — as well as programmatic appropriations requests for broader federal funding priorities.
