Kevin Thomas will be here from ODOT District 9 to discuss Safety Funding and more specifically the Abbreviated Safety Funding.
ODOTs safety program is open to any Local Public Agency* that is seeking to develop a roadway improvement project on any public road which can be shown to improve safety and reduce the risk of crashes. Proposed projects on local roads are evaluated and prioritized based on safety as well as other criteria for funding. Both the bi-annual safety application as well as the new abbreviated safety application options are available and can be considered as an option for requesting funds.
*Local Public Agency (LPA) can include any other state agency, local political subdivision, board, commission, or other governmental entity identified under paragraph D of section 5501.03 of the Ohio revised code as being eligible for assuming administrative responsibilities for ODOT improvement projects.
